奈良時代、天平年間（７２９～７４９年）に聖武天皇Syoumu-tennouの依頼で、行基菩薩が 鎮護国家のための修業場として 建てたとされます。 顕密弘通の 法の修業窟(で、本尊の医王尊は 行基菩薩が彫った物とされます。かつての昔、ここより西 １里の木野山の１千坊を構えた 大寺に移されました。   The temple was built as the training hall for spiritual protection of the state by Gyouki-bosatu upon Emperor Syoumu’s request during the Tenpyo years in Nara period    The principal image/iou-son/Yakusi-nyorai/ is attributed to Gyouki-bosatu in the old day,   it was transferred to Oodera/greate temple on Ki-no-yama mountain at a distance of 1ri/2.44 miles from this place where one thousand buildings attached to the temple stood

時は流れて、本尊薬師如来を 八川村に移しました。すると激しく「ここに居るのは嫌だ」と言うものですから、蹶然Ketuzen（勢い良く飛び起きる）として 遠くの仏畝に 移しました。その後、何らかの理由で 現在の地に戻りました。それで、この本尊を 三遷の薬師如来と言います。その当時は１２坊有って 栄えました。時が経ち、中興開山した実智上人の頃になって、六波羅密を表象して ６ヶ坊としました。壇度坊 精進坊 般若坊 浄戒坊 安忍坊 谷坊です。しかし、衰退は極まり、現在は 壇度坊だけになりました。 When time went by, the principal image was transferred to Yakawa village　Just then,  since he said that I hate to be here ,  he was moved to proper location for Buddha    Afterward, the Buddha return in this present place/the original location for some reasons    Hence, the Buddha is called translocated 3times Yakusi-nyorai    Oomura-ji/temple which had subsidiary 12bous/ temple,  developed at that time    Time went by,  and 12Bous was reformed to 6 Bous ”Dand-bou/temple, Syouzin-bou, Hannya-bou, Annin-bou and Tani-no-bou”  associated with Rokuharamitu/the six virtues a Buddha during Jitti-syounin's time, who restricted & established this temple    But, the temple declined reached a limit,  and the temple become nothing else than Bando-bou

この地は備中松山城の艮Usitoraの方向（鬼門）であったので歴代の城主は 尊崇しました。寺領は１００石、山林若干を有していて、明治維新まで 松山城城主の祈願所でした。故に 備中守 三村家公 三村修理が 厚く保護しました。弘化３年（１８４６年）丙午Hinoe-Umaに不幸にして 出火し本堂を灰にしてしまいましたが、翌年丁未(HinotoHituji年、板倉周防守勝職Itakura-suou-no-kami-Katutuneが 再建しました。また、その昔は中国、西国の天台宗寺院の中で、最重要な寺とされ関西の本山と言われました。享和年間（１８０１～１８０４年）に 本山より 大哲法師が 派遣されて来て興隆に努め、その結果 盛大となり 今日に至っています。「賀陽町史追補版」 　Since this temple locate in the Usitora direction of Bittyuu-Matuyama-jyou/castle,  past lords worshipped and this temple was designated as a place for prayer by the lord of Matuyama-jyou until Meiji period    Therefore Bittyuu-no-kami/Mimura-ke-no kimi /Syuuri Mimura (Mototika Mimura) protected cordially the temple    The temple-main hall burnt to ashes unfortunately in 1846,  but Suou-no-kami Katutune Itakura reconstructed in the following year    Once upon a time,  since the temple was most important among Tendai sect-temples in Chugoku district and Saigoku/ the western part of Japan, was called the head temple in Kansai region    Daitetu bonze who was dispatched by the head temple,  committed himself to the rise of the temple ,  the temple flourished consequently and the situation continues up to today   Usitra direction：the northeastern quarte quarter / an unlucky quarter　Syuurinosuke Mimura：Mototika Bityuu-no-kami Mimura
