下土井大上６２１番地の西  北緯34度52分58秒・東経133度45分45秒付近が 標高約２９０m 高さ約４０mの「船山城跡」です。城地の広さは 東西約８０m×南北約４０m で 郭 堀を残します。「加茂川町の山城」では船山城 勝山城 せいひろ城は 同じ城とされていますが、他の２城は 近くにあり、２城とも 船山城の出城であろうと考えます。宇都宮下総守貞綱（土井下総守三郎左衛門貞綱 勝山城） 土井治郎左衛門貞村 土井三郎右衛門貞兼等が 城主を務めています。伊賀兵庫頭の子の伊賀貞綱が 将軍家からの預かり人であった 宇都宮若狭守朝之の養子となり 宇都宮下総守と改名し 船山城に 住みました。貞綱の子は 客分の身分を捨て 国人に戻り 土井治郎右衛門と 地名を苗字とし、石高４０００石で 伊勢守の配下 すなわち虎倉城の家老と成りました。妻は 美作国高田城 三浦能登守の娘です。高田城を 勝山城とも 呼びます。戦勝祈願し 高田城の玉藻宮を 土井氏の氏神にするため 下土井に勧請Kanjyouし 土井神社としました。上加茂合戦の時は 伊賀久隆の作戦に従い 毛利の進軍に 抵抗もせず 虎倉に引きました。上加茂合戦では 土井三郎右衛門が 侍大将として 毛利軍に対し奮戦しましたが、福山城下の萩坂（沖坂、荻坂）の合戦の時 馬が暴走し 敵陣に突入したため　河原六郎右衛門に 討ち取られました。虎倉側が 大勝利(加茂崩れ)すると、虎倉勢が 長追いを止め 福山城から虎倉へ引き返したので 毛利氏は 船山城と勝山城に兵を残し 毛利本隊は 安芸へ引き上げました。その後 毛利氏と伊賀氏の話し合いによって 船山城 勝山城 せいひろ城は 元の土井氏の居城となりました。「加茂川町史」「加茂川町の山城」勝山城の項目を参照ください。

加茂総社から 落合に向かう 落合加茂川線（６６号線）と それから細田に向かい分岐する下土井下加茂線（３７２号線）との交叉に挟まれた 山に 船山城址が有り、城地は２峰に別れていて 東の右手の大きい山が 船山城山で、西の小山にも 多数の平坦地が あります。 船山城山の北は上井原の谷です。南側と東側は 急峻な斜面で、北側を除き周囲は田圃です。田が 沼地として 天然の濠Horiの役を 果たしていたのでしょう。主郭は 東西に細長く７０ｍ×２０ｍ 程で 切岸は約１.５ｍです。主郭を囲むように 東側から南側を通り西側に ５～１０ｍ伸びる帯曲輪郡が有ります。この帯曲輪の切岸は ４m程 もあります。西側の南と東側の南は 張り出していて 横矢が射れる構造です。東南端に 虎口らしき遺構があり、入り口を出た先に 腰曲輪（墓場）と 数段の削平地があります。 北側に ６条程の畝状竪堀群と 主郭の下の帯曲輪直下の南西から 南東斜面に ２０数条の畝状竪堀群があります。先述の帯曲輪の西側から 南西側に 細長い帯曲輪あります。城地の広さは 東西約８０ｍ×南北約４０mです。「http://ochibo.my.coocan.jp/oshiro/bizen/tudaka/katuyama.htm」

主郭の北東に ２つの社が祀られています。戦国時は 虎倉城にとって 福山城の北に位置する重要な城でした。吉備中央町では 親城とその支城を同じ名称で呼ぶ傾向があります。即ち この３城 勝山城 船山城 せいひろ城をひっくるめて船山城と 呼んでいましたが、毛利氏が 験を担いで勝山城と呼んだために 地元の人達にも 勝山城と呼ぶ習慣ができたのでしょう。 Ruins of Hunayama-jyou/castle are located on the western mountain of 621 Simodoi-Ooue　Some parts of the enclosures and the dry moats remain visible today    It is written in 「加茂川町の山城」 that Hunayama-jyou, Katuyama-jyou and Seihiro-jyou is called  same name of Hunayama-jyou    I think that Katuyama-jyou and Seihiro-jyou were the branch castles of Hunayama-jyou probably     Sadatuna simohusa-no-kami Utunomiya “SadatunaSaburou-zaemon Simohusa-no-kami Doi”, Sadamura Jirou-zaemon Doi, and Sadakane Saburou-uemon Doi etc. were the lords of Hunayama-jyou    Sadatuna Iga who was a son of Hyougo-no-kami Iga, became the adopted son of Tomoyuki Wakasa-no-kami Utunomiya who was lived in Hunayama-jyou as the custody of the shogunate , and Sadatuna named himself Simohusa-no-kami Utunomiya　The son of Sadatuna abandoned the social position as the visitor and went back to a local person and gave his family name after the place name of Doi and named himself Jirou-zaemon Doi, and became Ise-no-kami’s subordinates viz a chief retainer of Kokura-jyou with Kokudaka "the size ofthe fief” being 4000 koku “consumption of rice /a year/4000peoples”    His wife was a daughter of Noto-no-kami Mimura who was the lord of Takada-jyou “Katuyamaj-you” in Mimasaka province     He transferred Tamamo-guu/shrine to Simodoi to worship as the local guardian deity and named Doijin-jya/shrine for a prayer to win against Mouri clan in Bittyuu province    Hunayama-jyou was surrendered to Mouri army without resistance and all peoples assembled in Kokura, and Saburou-uemon Doi who was a samurai general struggled against Mouri army in Kamigamo-gassen/battle in 1580    But he was killed by Rokurou-uemon Kawara who was a Kokura side’s vassal, but was proscribed as a traitor, because his horse rushed into the enemy's camp together him at the Hagisaka-no--kassen/fight near Hukuyama-jyou    He is sole victim of Iga side in Kamigamo-gassen    After Mouri's army took a terrible beating "kamo-kuzure", because Kokura army returned to Kokura from the battlefield including Hunayama-jyou’s troop etc. without chasing the enemy too far, the main army of Mouri clan returned to Aki province leaving the some soldiers    Hunayama-jyou , Katuyama-jyou and Seihiro-jyou were returned back to the original possessor who was Doi clan, by the consultation between Mouri clan and Iga clan    The Hunayama-jyou are located on the northeast of crossing of Otiai-Kamogawa-sen/line and Simodoi-Simogamo-sen/line    The castle areas are divided into two mountains, the eastern large mountain was the main enclosure of the ruins, and many flatlands are on western small mountain    The north side of main enclosure is the valley in Kami-Ihara, and south & east sides are steep slopes, the perimeter of the mountain are rice fields except north side　 I think the rice field which were marshes, served as the natural moats   The main enclosure was slender and long to toward east and west where is about 70m x 20m in size and have the Kirigishi (bluffs) of about1.5m high    The Kirigisi of this belt-like enclosure is about 4m    The south of the west side of main enclosure and the south on the east side are overhanging  to be able to shoot arrows on the enemy　There is a mark like the castle gate at the east end    There are Yoko-guruwas "enclosure on the side：was made graveyard" and several steps or flat lands at the outside of the entrance    There are about six Unejyou-tatebori-guns “the range of a pair with dry moat & earthwork have effects that attacking forces is gathered into groove bottom and that make kill zone around the enclosure ” and over twenty Unejyou-tatebori-guns on on the slops from southwest to southeast where are directly below the belt-like enclosures under the main enclosure    There is a elongated belt-like enclosure from the west side to southwest side of the belt-like enclosure of the foregoing    Two shrine enshrined on northeast part of the main enclosure at the top of the eastern mountain    Hunayama-jyou witch was located north of Hukuyama-jyou was important castle for Kokura-jyou in the age of provincial wars    There is a certain tendency to call same name between the parent castle and the branch castles in area of Kamogawa of Kibityuuout-you/town   Hunayama-jyou, Katuyama-jyou and Seihiro-jyou were called Hunayama-jyou collectively, but since Mouri clan called the three castles Katuyama-jyou superstitiously and the local peoples call the tree castles Katuyama-jyou habitually   勝山城：下土井山端１６３２－１番地の北の丘 北緯34度52分40秒・東経133度15分40秒　倉城：下土井２３９・１０２９番地等　城山：下土井５１９・５５４番地等    せいひろ城：富永丸山７７４番地の裏山 北緯34度52分44秒・東経133度45分20秒　セイロウ：下土井５３１・６６２番地等　城平：下土井５３９・５７３番地等    門口：富永７６６番地    倉城：富永１２４８・１２５３番地等    丸山：下土井８１７・９５４番地等　丸山：下土井１６０３・１７２６番地等　土井：８２４・９２４番地等       平成２３年（２０１１年）７月１日
