下土井山端1632-1番地の北の丘 北緯34度52分40秒・東経133度15分40秒付近が 勝山城跡です。最も高い所の曲輪が 主郭と想像します。宇都宮下総守貞綱（土井下総守三郎左衛門貞綱）の子の土井治郎右衛門貞村 土井三郎右衛門貞兼が 船山城主です。土井治郎右衛門の妻は 高田城主（美作勝山城） 三浦能登守貞広の娘だったので、貞広は 船山城方に援軍を出していましたが、天正3年（1575年備中兵乱終結）宇喜多氏の仲介で 高田城主の貞広と毛利氏とが 和議を成立すると 高田城は 毛利氏に明け渡され、天正7年（1579年）宇喜多直家が 毛利氏を離れ 織田信長方に 鞍替えすると 宇喜多氏の家老職であった 伊賀久隆の傘下にあった 船山城は 高田城と敵対関係となりました。毛利輝元は 裏切り者の宇喜多氏を 滅ぼすため、宇喜多氏の最大勢力である伊賀久隆を まず攻めようとすると、大軍を前にした伊賀久隆は 城の者も 民も 虎倉に集まるよう 命令しました。処が 深い霧を利用した伊賀久隆は 毛利軍に大勝利しました。天正８年（1580年  天正２年との説も ありますが 歴史的に この説は信じ難い）上加茂合戦後に 大敗した毛利軍は 船山城に入り、近くに 勝山城を船山城の出城として築き、戦後処理のために 毛利家臣 赤川二郎左衛門元之 岡宗左衛門元良 竹井直定 植原源左衛門が 一時在城し、安芸への退却の 拠点としました。 天正９年（１５８１年）４月に 伊賀久隆の死を 桂元盛等が 毛利輝元へ知らせました。久隆死後、久隆の嫡子伊賀家久は 毛利側に鞍替えしました。 「村人口伝」　「加茂川町の山城」船山城の項目を参照ください。　

勝山城跡は 東の山から西へ張り出した小丘で、一部墓地や 畑になっていて、他に３基の名もない人の墓と思われる石組みがある平坦地です。おかやま全県統型ＧＩＳ（勝山城） 史実を示す資料が乏しいのですが、勝山城の麓には、土井家の館があり「宇喜多直家の妻、お福（父は三浦能登守です　春日局ではありません）が住んでいた」と 村人の一人が言います。 The ruins of Katuyama-jyou/castle are located on the northern hill of 1632-1 Simodoi-Yamahana   The lords of Hunayama-jyou/castle were Sadatuna simohusa-no-kami Utunomiya, Sadamura Jirou-zaemon Doi, Sadakane saburou-uemon Doi   Because the wife of Jirou-zaemon was a daughter of Sadahiro Noto-no-kami Miura, Sadahiro continued to send reinforcements to Hunayama-jyou “Kokura force side”, but ｗhen the peace negotiations between Sadahiro”lord of Hunayama-jyoucastle and mouri clan” were concluded successfully. by Ùkita clan’s mediation in 1575 "after Bittyuu-heiran/war", Takada-jyou was surrendered to Mori clan, and when Naoie Ukita renounced an alliance with Mouri clan and switch over from Mouri clan’s side  to Nobunaga Oda’s side in 1579, Hunayama-jyou which was under the jurisdiction of Hisataka Iga who was a chief retainer of Ukita clan., Hunayama-jyou became hostile to Takada-jyou   To destroy the traitor “Ukita clan”, when Mouri clan tried to attack Hisataka Iga at first who had the greatest force of Naoie Ukita, Hisataka Iga who was in face of the vast army's marching, ordered the soldiers of the castle and the peoples to gather in Kokura using the advantage of deep fog, Hisataka Iga won a major victory over the Mori’s army    Mouri army who suffered a crushing defeat in Kamigamo-gassen/battle in 1580, entered Hunayama-jyou which was quite empty, and built Katuyama-jyou near Hunayama-jyou as branch castle    Jirou-zaemon Akagawa, Sou-zaemon Oka, Naosada Takei and Gen-zaemon Uehara entered Katuyama-jyou temporarily to take control after the war, and they made it a base for the retreat to Aki province    The death of Hisataka Iga with poison by Naoie Ukita was reported to Terumoto Mouri by Motomori Katura from the castle    After death of Hisataka, Hisaie Iga who was a son of Hisataka switched over from Ukiyta clan to Mouri clan  Katsuyama Castle ruins are on the flatland of a small hill that protruded west from the eastern mountain. some of them have become cemeteries and fields  There are three stone arrangements that seems to be the graves of unknown soldiers on the flatland    A villager said that Ohuku who was a daughter of Noto-no-kami Mimura, the wife of Naoie Ukita and a concubine of Hideyosi Toyotomi, had lived in the house of Doi family at the foot of Katuyamajyou-hill temporarily   Please refer to Hunayama-jyou    山端：下土井１６０６（北緯34度52分40秒・東経133度45分38秒）－１６０８・１６３２（北緯34度52分39秒・東経133度45分39秒）・１６６６番地等    丸山：下土井８１７・９５４番地等　丸山：下土井１６０３・１７２６番地等　土井：８２４・９２４番地等　   平成２５年（２０１３年）１０月１０日
