吉城山城は 福山城の東に 築かれたとされれます。東山城址の直ぐ近くの台ヶ嶺城址より 重要と思われる福山城址が有るので、その福山城山と、台ヶ峰の間の高台に「吉城山城跡」があると予測し 台ヶ峰（四望山）あるいは それに連なる尾根を 探索しました。福山城と十力城の間の山である高谷木ノ實konomi745番地の裏山（丘） 北緯34度51分50秒・東経133度46分21秒が 吉城山城跡であろうと思い 長丸の年老いた農夫に尋ねると「あの山も 十力城の出城だった」と 指差して教えて頂きました。高谷木ノ實745番地の裏手の山道を 北東に向き１８０ｍ程入ると左手に平坦地が現れ、少し進むと 祠が岩場の上に祀られています。更に北に進むと 高谷 加茂市場と美原の境界部に 大きく切り取られた平坦地の窪みが有ります。窪みの平坦地は 見方を変えると、高い土塁を伴った地形のように見えます。この平坦地を取囲むように 山道は続き、南に向かう２本の山道に分かれます。

いずれかの山道を 南に３９０ｍ程 進むと ２本の山道は 合流します。３０ｍ程南に進むと 高谷木ノ實745番地の裏の藪に向かう荒れた山道と、福山城公園に向かう道と交叉します。深い空堀（切岸）や高い障壁（作壁）は 部分的にあるだけで 防備に欠けますので、戦闘を意識した山城ではないのでしょう。福山城 十力城 東山城の項目を参照ください。 　The ruins of Yosikiyama-jyou/castle are located on the hill at the back of 745 Takaya-Ko-no-mi    Go along the mountain path from the hill at the back of 745 Takaya-Ko-o-mi toward the northeast about 180m   You can look out a flat land in the left side    And go toward the north about 90m, you will reach a sunken place with a flatland at border point between Takaya, Kamoitiba and Mihara    The sunken place appears a flat land with high earthwork circle.    In other words, if youｇo along the roundabout path around the sunken place toward the north‐northwest about 180m,  you will reach the place where the path bifurcate    And the two paths run  toward the south and the two paths meet together at 390m "ahead at 30m from745 konomi" from the position of bifurcation　Please refer to Hukuyama-jyou/castle, Jyuuriki-jyou/castle and Higasiyama-jyou/castle    北山：高谷７８５－７９４番地等　東谷：高谷７８２番地　　 平成２４年（２０１２年）３月２３日
