冨津の小森中黒1558番地の川向こう 天津神社の南東の 標高約２５０m 高さ約１２０mの山で、小森東平893番地の北 北緯34度55分36秒・東経136度48分44秒付近が 「百坂城跡」（東西約２５０m×南北約１００m）です。北側の麓は 豊岡川で 絶壁、東と西は 深い谷、南は 五明の山塊で弁蔵から 旭山へ続く谷を 見下しています。上加茂合戦  直前では 吉川元春軍が 美作から 加茂へ入る 道の守りです。即ち 小森から 江与美を通り 美作に向かう 交通の要所で、戦略的 に重要な位置を なしています。 毛利の将 菱川右京亮 菱川左京 菱川与四郎（小森城主の右京の長男） 菱川与九郎（右京の次男）或いは 松田氏傘下の菱川右京亮（三村家親に従い月田合戦に参加）が 城主とされます。「加茂川町の山城」菱川与兵衛は 与九郎の兄で 虎倉城主 伊賀配下の侍であり、百坂城の城主です。毛利の将 或いは 松田の将と 表現されている武将が 示されていますが、伊賀氏は 元々松田氏の家老職で、備中兵乱の頃は 毛利軍に 属していましたので いずれの武将も 伊賀氏の武将であったとしても そのように表現して 間違いではないでしょう。上加茂合戦時の城主は 恐らく菱川与四郎でしょう。 Ruins of Mozako-jyou/castle are located on the north of 893 Komori-Higasi-hira  　The north side is a precipitous cliff faced Toyooka-gawa/river, the east and the west side are deep gorges, the south side is a mass of mountains of Gomyou, and the  valley where lead from Benzou to Asahi-yama can be overlooked    It was the defense against Motoharu Kikkawa's army  who may invade from Mimasaka to Simo-gamo    That was traffic important position from Komori via Eyomi to Mimasaka, and was strategic important position    It is said that the lords of the castle were Sakyou Hisikawa who is a general leader of Mouri clan, Yosirou Hisikawa who is first son of Ukyou Hisikawa “the lords of Komri-jyou/castle”, Yokurou Hisikawa “second son of Ukyou” and Ukyou-no-suke Hisikawa who was a direct retainer of Matuda clan and participated in the Tukida-gassen/war following Ietika Mimura　Although general leader of Mouri clan and a direct retainer of Matuda clan are  shown, even though they were military commanders of Iga clan , that may possibly all correct , because Iga clan was a chief retainer of Matuda clan originally, and belonged to Mouri clan at Bityuu-heiran/war    The lord of the castle was probably Yosirou Hisikawa

４２９号線から 豊岡川を 神原橋で渡り、東に登り 小森子キ（ねき）770番地の北 等の分岐を 大師堂の下を通り、北に ひたすら登ると 百坂の２軒の集落に出ます。小森城山東平893番地の西の山道を入ると、直ぐに 小さい石垣が 右手に有り、北に少し登ると ２段の竹藪の平坦地が 見つかります。ここが 城地の始まりでしょう。２段の平坦地の左側(西)に 山道が続くので 下り気味に 北に進むと 道は分岐します。右の道を登ると 百坂山の頂上に出ます。頂上には 手水鉢 朽ちかけた小社と崩れ落ちた社 倒れた瀧社の小社が祀られます。 　

この頂上が 百坂城の主郭です。元の分岐に戻り、左の分岐を進むと 頂上を囲むように 上段 下段に　平坦地が幾つも有ります。その一つは 石垣が組まれ、かつて民家が 建っていたそうです。これ等の平坦地は 城地跡の平坦地を活用して 耕作されていたものと 推測します。その内の 竹藪になっている平坦地の１つには １．５ｍ程の井戸 或いは 池の跡と思われる穴が 開いています。北東に 進むにつれて 植林地となり、頂上のほぼ北側に来ると 墓のある先に 平坦地があります。北方に天津神社が建っています。

小森城山東平893番地の下の 大きな曲がりから始まる 山道を下り 分岐を右に進み（左に進むと五明に出ます）次の分岐も 右に進み（左に進むと加財神社に出ます）Ｔ字路を 左に下ると 金毘羅神社があり、更に下ると左の山手に 石垣で守られた平坦地が 多数重なり、水路が 有ります。恐らくこの地は 兵の集結地だったものを 耕地にしたのでしょう。ここを下ると 小森子キ７６４番地に出ます。

Cross the Toyooka-gawa/river by Kanbara-basi/bridge from route 429, climb into toward east, you will reach the cross at the north of 770 Komori-neki   Pass under Daishi-do/hall and climb to toward the north about 600m, you will reach the Mouzako- community of two family   As soon as you go along  the mountain path which is the west of 893 Komori-Jyouzan-higasi-hara, you will find a small stone wall on your right immediately     Climb to toward the north short distance, you will find two steps of flat lands where turned into a bamboo shoot    This place is probably the beginning of the castle area   From the left side of the two-stage flat land, go along the mountain path to toward the north, the road will branch    Climb the right path , you will reach to the top of Mouzako-yama/mountain    At the top, there is a hand water bowl, and a decaying small shrine, a collapsed shrine, and a fallen small Taki-sya/shrine were enshrined in a hut to relieve from the rain   This top is the ruins of main closure of Mouzako-jyou   Return to the original branch    If go through the left branch, you will find many flat lands in the upper and lower around the top   One of them have stone walls, and it was said that a private house was built before here    It is presumed that the flat lands at this place were cultivated by utilizing the flat of the castle site   There is a well of about 5m or a hole that seems to be the site of the pond in one of the flat lands that has become a bamboo bush   If you move on to the northeast, you will reach forestation areas　 Where You reach almost  toward the north of the top, there is a flat land at the end of the graveyard   Amatu-jinjya/shrine was built to the north   Go down the mountain path that begins at a big bend under 893 Jyouzan-Higasi-hira, go right along  the branch.（If you go left, you will reach to Gomy）　and also go to the right at next branch （If you go left, you will reach to Kazai-jinjya）and go down the T-shaped path to the left, you will find Konpira-jinjya    Go down further, there are many flat lands protected by stone walls on left of mountain side, and there is a waterway    Perhaps this land was a gathering ground for soldiers and It might have made to the arable ground    If you go down from here, you will reach to 764 Komori-Neki 　城山：小森８９４・８９６－８９８番地  城山西平：小森８９９番地　コゴロ：小森１０５４・１１４４番地等　　コゴロ渡リ：小森１２０９－１２１１番地      平成２３年（２０１１年）７月１日
