大木目取1129番地付近 北緯34度54分44秒・東経133度46分5秒付近の 標高 約２３０m 高さ５０m程の円形の竹藪が「面城跡」です。常江田城の出城とされます。現在では 島状の丘の 竹藪になっている頂上の作平地は 円形で、それを囲むように下段の作平地があり 更に細い犬走りが 部分的に有ります。南西側に 廃屋が有り ここも城地であったのでしょう。従って平坦地は４面と言う事になります。下の頂上を囲むような平坦地の西側に 墓場が有り その東北に一社宮が２社建ちます。

墓場に近い方の社は、丸支天王宮です。墓場の側に 汲川の跡らしき直径１ｍ程の比較的深い穴が有り、その北西にも同じような穴が有ります。東に隣接している地域は「目取」の地名が付けられています。目くらまし 面取（急斜面の埋め立て） 目計（目分量） 女取（窪地の埋め立て）のいずれの意味でしょうか。面城の三方は急峻な崖ですが 目取側だけは 無防備な構造で、これでは 山城としては不自然です。目取は 元は 空堀で周辺と仕切られていたが、後世に堀を埋め 往来の便を図ったのであれば、面取 あるいは女取が 目鳥の地名の由来の有力な候補となります。大木金比羅神社の建つ所の郷田城跡（北緯34度54分43秒・東経133度46分53秒）を 面城跡と「加茂川町の山城」等では 紹介していますが、地元の人は こぞってこの薮の城跡を 面城と呼び、またここに女城 の地名もあり、また 大木金比羅神社の建つとされる所を 郷田城と 呼びます。郷田と言う地名は この辺りになく、常江田城の近くに 合田の地名があります。吉備中央町では、親城と出城を同じ名前で呼ぶ傾向が見られますので「加茂川町の山城」等の意見を否定する訳ではありません。Ｔhe ruins of Men-jiro/castle are located near 1129 Oogi-Metori     The citadel is a insular hill became a bamboo thicket at the present time    It is said that this castle is a branch castle of Tuneeda-jyou/castle    The flatland of the top of the hill is a round-shape    There is the second flatland under the top-flatland　The second flatland  surround the top-flatland and there is few narrow Inubasiris “berms” at a part of second flatland   There is a graveyard on the second flatland and two shrines are enshrined at the northeast of the graveyard    The shrine near the graveyard is Marusi-tenou-guu/shrine    There is a deep hole with about one meter in diameter what seem remains of a well at the side of the graveyard    Land name called Metori ”目取・take eye” is the east side of the adjoining hill    The name is conceived means of camouflage, reclaim land from a steep slope “面取”, a rough estimate“目量“,  land fill of the  depression of the ground”女取“    The Metori side of the castle is only unprotected against invasion of the attacking soldiers    Since this structure is
