佐与谷城は 天神山城 大離城とも呼ばれます。西の太谷山の頂上（標高約３８０m 高さ約２２０m） 北緯34度48分55秒・東経133度39分4秒 付近が「佐与谷城跡」です。野山宮内大輔源益朝が 三村元親合戦（備中兵乱）のために、即ち 毛利氏による松山城攻略に 対抗するための備えとして 築城されました。上の写真は 高梁御津線（３１号線 ）の猩々池バス停・佐与谷橋の北側５０ｍ程の地点から 城跡を臨んでいます。賀陽インターチェンジを 右に 松山に向け ４８４号線を進み、長屋賀陽線（７８号線）との交叉点を 後にして 高梁市との境付近の仕方畝バス停に出ます。工場団地の中を 抜け 右手に山を左手 に佐与谷川を 見ながら 1北に 細い道を進みます。

途中 北緯３４度48分13秒付近に 滝が有ります。更に進む と高梁市津川町今津3746番地に出ます。津川町今津3746番地の南東の山が 佐与谷城跡山です。今津3746番地に行くには 高梁御津線（３１号線）を佐与谷川に沿って 佐与谷ダムから 約1200m程 進むと 31号線が 佐与谷川を 渡りまます。川を渡ると直ぐに 左側に戻る方向に向かう分岐が あるので 分岐を東に 210m程進み 川を渡って60m程 東に進みます。津川町今津３746番地の 裏の墓場から伸びて来ている尾根を伝い  急勾配の山道を登ると 頂上に向かう岩の縦列があり 斜面の勾配が 緩やかになる辺りまで 岩の縦列が 続きます。岩の縦列が終わる頃から 数個の狭い平坦地が 幾つか 有ります。登城の疲れを癒す為のものでしょう。 While looking at the Kayo Interchange to the right, go along Route 484 toward Matsuyama, go from the crossing point on Route78 toward the border with Takahasi-si/city and Kibityuuou-tyou/town, you will reach Sikataune-bus stop    Go through the factory complex, go along  a narrow road toward the north while  looking the mountain on your right and looking Sayotani-gawa/river on your left   On the way, there is a waterfall near 34 degrees48 minutes 13seconds north latitude and 133 degrees39 minutes 27seconds east longitude    If you go further, you will reach at 3746 Tsugawa-tyou-Imatu in Takahashi-ci/city   The top of the mountain in the southeast of 3746 Tsugawa-tyou-Imatu is the ruins of Sayotani-jyou    Clime the steep slope to the top of mountain along the ridge which start from 3746 Tsugawa-tyou-Imatu, then there are arranged rocks vertically continuing to the area where the slope becomes gentle and there are several narrow flat lands near the end of arrangement of the rocks    It might be the place to heal the tiredness of the climbing

 頂上は 北側を除き 帯状の犬走りが 取り巻き、犬走りと 頂上の平坦地とは ２ｍ位の段差が有り、頂上の平坦地の西の下に 狭い平坦地が 有ります。頂上の平坦地は 北東から南西に延びる勾玉状で、東に 窪みがあります。北東側に 朽ち果てそうな 比較的大きな１社宮の祠が 建っています。離小屋城の天神と 佐与谷城の天神は 仲が悪いので 南北に向かい合うと 不幸が起こるとされましたので、離小屋城の天神社は 東向きに建てられ、佐与谷城では 北向きに建てられているとされます。備中兵乱に 積極的に 参加しませんでしたが  最後まで三村氏を支持していた 野山氏は 三村氏を裏切った 竹井氏 離小屋城主の大槻氏に 反感を持っていたので そのように伝えられるのでしょう。堅固な山城の構えでは ありません。  The another names for Sayotani-jyou/castle are Tenjinyama-jyou/castle and Oo-hanare-jyou    The ruins of the castle are located on the southeastern mountain of 3746 Tugawa-tyou/town-Imatu  in Takahasi-si/city, in other words. on the peak of Ootani-yama/mountain in Nisi    This castle was built by Minamoto-no-Masutomo Kunai-taihu Noyama to confront against Mouri clan who was attacking Matuyama-jyou of Mototika Mimura at Bittyuu-heiran/battle in1574    The flat land of the mountain-top is shape of Magatama “a comma‐shaped bead“ where extend northeast and southwest, is surrounded by a berm which is at the base of a cliff with the height of 2m from the flatland, expect north side    There is a pit on the eastern part of the flat land, a old relatively large shrine was built on northwestern part of the flat land, a small flat land is at western blow of the flat land     It is said that as theTen-jin/god “Marisi-ten：god of battle” of Hanare-goya-jyou and Ten-jin of Sayotani-jyou are on bad terms with each other, if they faced each other north and south, misfortunes happens, so Tenjin-sya/shrine of Hanare-goya-jyou is built to face the east and Tenjin-sya of Sayotani-jyou is built to face the north     It is said that 「Noyama clan “the lord of Kowada-jyou” who enter the Bittyuu-heiran/battle inactively, had supported Mimura clan “the lord of Matuyama-jyou” to the end, began to harbor hostility against the Takei clan and Ootuki clan “the lord of Hanare-goya-jyou” who betrayed Mimura clan」   高梁市津川町今津３７４６番地：北緯34度49分7秒・東経133度38分52秒    賀陽総合スポーツ公園：上竹 北緯3４度４９分４４秒・東経１３３度３９分３８秒    離小屋城：上竹 北緯34度49分25秒・東経133度39分32秒    大谷山：西３７２８番地　サヨ谷：西３７２９－３７３１・３７３４－３７４８番地 　　平成２４年（２０１２年）４月５日
