豊岡下長屋下タ 276-1番地の豊岡いきいきプラザの南・豊岡川に東と南が囲まれた田の中に 孤立した 標高２４０m程 高さ４０m程の岡が 天神山で、北緯34度54分37秒・東経133度46分37秒に「天神山城跡」が 位置します。明らかな山城構造を整えています。この山が 東西東西約30m×南北約６０mの城山であることを指摘したのは 私達かもそれませんが、が、後に上った時には地主の方の名前を添えた 片山城と記された木札が立てられていました。 天神山の北斜面には 山の中程に等高線に沿う山道があり、南斜面は急峻で 豊岡川に迫ります。豊岡一本桜から 西南に山に登り始めると 墓場があります。 

頂上近くには 空堀があり、その西南の平坦地に 古い墓場があります。更に 西南に幅の広い空堀があり、その西南に 平坦地があり、鎮魂碑が立っています。北側に 犬走りがあります。鎮魂碑の立つ平坦地の西南にも 浅い空堀があり、下り道が続き 豊岡上下尾倉1081番地に出ます。この側の斜面は 切り取られ 急峻となっています。その坂道の途中に、地神「嘉永 酉二年吉祥日」大智明権現「天保十三寅八月吉日 施主 横部中」  地蔵菩薩が「天明六丙午八月廿四年」が 祀られています。

言い換えると 最とも高い位置にある曲輪が主郭で、石垣の上に 戦没者忠魂碑が建ちます。そ曲輪はの南に続く曲輪は ずんぐりとした長楕円形状です。南斜面は急な天然の崖で、北側斜面は 高さ２～４ｍの切岸で 帯曲輪が走ります。この帯曲輪は 主郭とその北東に有る角の取れた長方形の曲輪の間に作られた空堀に 繋がっています。長方形状の曲輪の南側は急角度の自然の斜面ですが、北側は 緩やかな傾斜で下ります。長方形状の曲輪から北東に続く尾根筋には空堀があり 、主郭の曲輪の南西側にも空堀があります。後述の空堀の外側に土塁が築かれています。

天神山は前方後円墳に似た地形ですので 昭和中期に巨大な古墳であると 当時の豊岡小学校校長は言っていましたが  東西に細長過ぎるので 巨大古墳ではないと判断します。しかし近くに 石風呂の地名があるため その可能性を完全には 否定できません。天神山に祀られていた荒神社 祇園神社 天神社は  寛弘（1004年～1011年）の頃、天計神社に遷宮されました。  Ａ solitary hill in rice fields which the east side and the south side are surrounded by Toyooka-gawa/river at south of Toyooka-ikiiki-plaza is called Tenjin-yama/mountain  and is ruins of Tenjinyama-jyou/castle   Because this hill have typical structure of mountain castle but this castle is not on a collection of books by kibityuuou-tyo, I named this castle Tenjinyama-jyou for convenience    There is a mountain pass along contour line on the half way up the hill of north side of Tenjin-yama and the southern slope of the mountain is steep and approaches the Toyooka-gawa/river  A artificial trench are near the hill-top, old graveyards are on flat land of the southwest of the trench　 And a wide artificial trench is on the southwest of the old graveyards and a flatland with Tinkon-hi “monument of repose of souls”   An Inubasiri" berm " are north side of the hill    A shallow artificial trench is on the flatland with the monument too   A Di-jin “god of the land” a Daitimyou-gongen “Dizou-bosatu/bodhisattva enshrined on Houki-daisen/mountain” and a Dizou-bosattva “Kshitigarbha” are enshrined in the way of the slope　We may be the first person to point out the mountain as Shiro-yama “castle mountain”, and given name of Tenjinyama-jyou/castle    Because Tenjin-yama’s shape is similar to Zenpou-kouen-hun“an ancient Japanese tomb of a circular shape with a rectangular frontage”, the principal of Toyooka elementary school at the time told the school children including me in the mid-Showa period that the mountain is a huge ancient tomb, because It is too long in the east and west and it is distorted, I judge it to be not a huge tomb    However, there is a place name of the Isi-buro "stone room" nearby, so the possibility cannot be completely denied    Koujin-sya/Shrine "God who punishes evil mainly", Gion-jinjya/shrine and Ten-jinjya which had were enshrined on Tenjin-yama, the shrines were sent to Amahakar-jinjya on Ookati-yama/mountain during Kankou era “1004-1011”    It is said that the young peoples bring up the shrines on their shoulders along steep slopes of Ookati-yama    石風呂：豊岡下１・２・４・１６番地　神原：豊岡下３・５２番地等    城ノ乢：豊岡下７２８番地    天岩：豊岡下２５２６番地     大勝山：豊岡下２８２５番地 　　平成２６年（２０１４年）１月２６日

令和５年３月に 明神山 に登ってみると、「片山源右衛門正影  南阿弥陀佛 寛政八年〇六月没 天保元年酉六月十八日」のほか３基の石碑が 頂上の やや下の平坦地に 立っていますが、それらの東側に 新たに「建武天皇系譜 平氏畠山重忠系属 片山氏 有松屋敷 片山家始祖 源右衛門正影之墓所」「片山城指定記念 令和四年一月 十四代片山舜輔建之」の 標識が 建てられていました。　令和５年（２０２３年）３月３日
